HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE
Erasmus: Christian Humanist


Erasmus of Rotterdam: scholar, satirist, theologian, heretic, renaissance man and a key figure bridging the gap between the Renaissance and the Reformation. Among his achievements were the Greek New Testament, numerous satires and allegories, works of theology and philosophy, and correspondence with all of the leading figures of his day.

ARCHITECTURE
Prince Charles's Crowning Achievement


The UK's Prince Charles not only advocates traditional architecture and urban planning, but is putting his money where his mouth is with new communities on his land in Dorset and Scotland. Towns like Poundbury, Dorset show just how successful traditional town planning and design can be in promoting healthy organic community without sacrificing convenience.

COMMUNITY CALENDAR

Chattanooga Symphony Presents The Sea


The CSO season concludes April 16 with two odes to the majesty of the Sea. Debussy's La Mer is his most famous and popular work for orchestra and paints a glorious seascape in his unique style. Across the channel, Englishman Vaughan Williams' setting of the words of Walt Whitman for chorus and soloists is a deeply moving and incredibly beautiful homage. A fitting end to a wonderful season!
